Valentine's Day is just 2 weeks away, so you know what that means... Sweet Treats & Baking. It is snowing here and when it’s cold outside there is nothing better than staying in and baking? I usually make Valentine's Day cookies. The smell of fresh-baked cookies on a cold winter day makes me always feel warm inside. This is such a fun activity to do together! I am sharing a recipe at the bottom of this post. It is my family's traditional sugar cookies that we use for several holidays throughout the year! They are always so hard to resist. Sugar Cookie Recipe:
INGREDIENTS
1¼ cups soft butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
5 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
½ cup milk
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat until fluffy.
Stir together dry ingredients and add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. If the dough is sticky, add flour to handle.
Roll ¼" thick on well-floured pastry cloth; cut. Place bake-on decorations on cookies. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet in moderate oven (375°) 8 minutes. Cool on racks.
Confectioners Frostings:
INGREDIENTS
3 cups Confectioners Sugar
1 Tablespoon Light Corn Syrup
2 Tablespoons Butter, Softened
3 Tablespoons Hot Water
In a small mixing bowl beat together sugar, corn syrup, butter, and water until smooth. If frosting is too thick additional water may be added. The perfect powdered sugar icing recipe you've been looking for is right here. Use this powdered sugar icing on Christmas or any Holiday sugar cookie recipes.

I’m loving that cutesy apron & casserole dish. Do you know if the dish is dishwasher safe?
