Come Home For Christmas!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Where did December go? I felt like we just decorated our tree, and now we will be gathering around it soon. Like many of you are, we are so busy getting gifts wrapped and cookies made. We made sugar-free Christmas-shaped cookies this year, and they are so good... (I will include the recipe below), and checking our lists twice to make sure we have everything done! In the business of getting everything done, we had our radio going, playing Christmas carols, and Matthew West’s song “Come Home For Christmas” came on, and I just stopped and was still and listened to the words. The lyrics in that song are so touching, but one particular line always stands out to me... "How long has it been Since you and your heart talked to Jesus?" With all the decorating, shopping, and festivities, I always want to take time and remember why we celebrate... Jesus! We have gathered each evening and read a chapter of Luke to follow the journey of Jesus and the gift of salvation he gave us! It is the most wonderful time of the year, making memories and holding onto ones that are so dear!

I pray you all can be with family and friends this Christmas, make memories that will be treasured forever, and Be Still & Come Home to Jesus!

Here are the beautiful lyrics and video of Matthew West's "Come Home For Christmas."

How long has it been Since you felt that feeling of wonder? Like a child wide awake Counting down on Christmas Eve, We're in such a hurry for life to begin. Do you ever just wish you could go back again? What if I told you the young and the old you Are not quite as far apart as you might think

Come home, come home, come home, Come home, Come home, Come home, Come home for Christmas. Let your heart return once again To the joy and the peace, The love and the hope. It's all right here waiting For you to come home for Christmas And come home for good.

Turn around, And you'll see There's a light in the window And a star on the tree Leave the past at the door. All the years and the tears. Let 'em fall to the floor.

Follow the sound Of laughter and song, Leading you back to the place Where you always belong

Come home, come home, come home, Come home, Come home, Come home, Come home for Christmas. Let your heart return once again To the joy and the peace, The love and the hope. It's all right here waiting For you to come home for Christmas And come home for good

Come home to a manger. Come home to a story that's still true. Come home to a Savior Who came down from Heaven just for you

How long has it been Since you and your heart talked to Jesus?

Come home, come home, come home, Come home, Come home for Christmas. Let your heart return once again To the joy and the peace The love and the hope It's all right here waiting For you to come home for Christmas And come home for good.

Come home for Christmas, And come home for good.
