"Love in Bloom" premieres tonight on Great American Family. This movie follows a young, chic florist's journey to find love through her passion for flowers. The film is set in Australia in a beautiful cottage garden. Amelia Hart (portrayed by Susie Albromeit) loses her luggage while traveling abroad for her sister's wedding and is forced to wear her sister's clothes, which are not her typical style. Amelia typically wears tailored, classic, modern, and formal styles. Since her luggage is lost, she has no choice but to wear her sister's sweet, floral, romantic flowy dresses. She finds herself captivated by moments of peace and serenity, not by just the clothes but a less structured lifestyle... all while planning her sister's wedding and falling in love with flowers again and, perhaps, her prince charming!
Movie Synopsis - When her soon-to-be-married little sister and fiancé become marooned at a mountain retreat days before their wedding, Amelia and the best man are tasked with stepping in to save the wedding.
As soon as I saw the trailer for this movie, I was instantly taken by Susie's dresses. I recognized some of the designers, LoveShackFancy & MinkPink, as soon as I saw them and then searched for more of her fashions from the film. Filmmaker and director Rogue Rubin asked LoveShackFancy to supply most of the main dresses Susie wears in the film – which further highlight not only the character of Amelia but Susie, too – with stylish, feminine clothing that has so many elements of romance attached to it.
Since the movie was filmed last year, the availability of some of her things is hard to find, but I was still able to locate some exact pieces. Ivy City has many styles similar to the ones Susie wears in the movie, and I have included them, as well. Susie wears this lovely white dress in the movie. I personally own this style of dress and love it. It can be dressy or casual, so versatile. You can wear heels, slides, or even boots. The Edie dress by LoveShackFancy has cotton crochet lace features and design details, including an empire waist with soft pleating down to a midi-length hem. Recently, Susie was interviewed by EClair Magazine, and I was so inspired by one of her answers I wanted to include it in my Blessing for the Day. She was asked... if you had one piece of advice to give to yourself as a child, what would it be?
Her response:
"Listen to that inner voice and your intuition, and listen to God. He knows best. Listening to God would have saved me so many, and I mean sooooo many problems. I could have avoided it all, but I needed to gain the wisdom to understand why He was saying those things. But now I’m listening. So I know now when I don’t quite understand something, I realize He knows best, and I’ve experienced what that feels like to not listen. So listening is one giant life lesson I am cultivating. :)" ~ Susie Abromeit
