It was such an honor when DaySpring recently asked me to review Candace's Bible; I was given an advance copy to read and was delighted when it arrived! DaySpring also sent me a copy of their Everyday Faith Magazine - Spring 2021. It features an introduction to the One Step Closer Bible - a great new resource of God's Word presented by Candace Cameron Bure.
As soon as I opened the box, I was amazed... the richness of the navy leather Bible, the gold accents, and lined pages are just beautiful. Immediately, I wanted to share it with you all that day, but first, I needed to dive in and see all the wonderful features this Bible has to offer! My favorite scripture in the Bible is Psalms 37:4, so that is where I immediately turned to first. From there, I revisited some of my favorite stories in the Bible, including Esther and Moses.
I have always known that the Bible is the greatest book ever written. My hope is that I will help you see how great this new Bible is, and with Easter just a few weeks away, what a wonderful gift this would be.
I am always wanting to find new ways to study God's Word; I prayed before receiving this Bible I would draw closer to him just by doing this review. For as long as I can remember, God's Holy Word has always been my go-to for answers, and how this Bible is constructed makes it easy and is a wonderful guidebook that God gave us! This Bible has an introduction at the start of each book and important scriptures, which I found very helpful. I liked the traditional double column text layout and the small margin for notetaking too. It has three ribbon markers to keep your place throughout the entire Bible for different studies and reading plans. And if that wasn’t enough, this Bible has an amazing Help Finder Index in the back of the Bible. I always find this helpful, it has several topics with verses and notes to help guide you. The HelpFinder index will answer all the questions that come to you as you begin to study this Bible.
It is simple and clear to read, as Candace says it allows God's word to meet you right where you are and whatever you are facing! Sometimes the Bible can be intimidating for many, but it is just God talking to us and longing for a relationship with us.
