Sweater weather is here, and my favorite part about it is that we can bust out all our fall fashion pieces! There is nothing better than sweater weather because it marks the beginning of the upcoming holiday season! There is something so magical about these months. My heart has been so broken and overwhelmed by what has happened in Afghanistan. I can't believe what I have seen on the news. The actions that were taken caused the death of 13 soldiers in Afghanistan due to terrible leadership. I know many of you may agree or disagree with me, but I ask do you think these parents and families of these soldiers think it was a success. I have heard their stories and seen pictures of mothers holding on to their son or daughter's casket just to hold their child again. It is so heartbreaking and I pray God can give them peace through all of this. These soldiers, who could barely walk and talk when the Afghanistan War started in 2001, were killed. Also, seeing Americans and our service dogs left behind, and the innocent Afghan people in terror for their lives is beyond imaginable! You don't leave a country with all OUR weapons and leave a terrorist in charge. I don't understand why this was allowed to happen and I now feel that America is left so vulnerable! I pray God will keep us safe and be with our military still serving in the midst of this chaos. I was reading in Psalms today, the Bible and Jesus are my comforts and this verse gave me peace... Psalm 56:3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. Also, I wanted to share this new song "Scars" from Casting Crowns, it reminded me of what the 13 soldiers' families are feeling and going through. It also reminded me to hold onto my loved ones a little longer and tighter. Life is so precious! I hope you all can be with family and friends this weekend and make memories, laugh, and just enjoy being with one another!
